Biography

Born 1953 in Cologne, Germany.

1973 - 1981 Studies of Philosophy, German Literature, Linguistics and "Theater-, Film- und Fernsehwissenschaften" at Albertus Magnus Universität Cologne and at Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität Frankfurt a.M. Graduation Dr. phil. with the dissertation "Zur Hermeneutik des Schweigens" (Hermeneutics of Silence).

Since 1983 Critic, curator, editor, book-designer and publisher on contemporary art.

Since 1994 Lecturer and visiting professor of Art Theory, Aesthetic Theory and Curatorial Studies at various Universities and Academies of Fine Arts, including at "De Ateliers" Amsterdam, HfG Karlsruhe, Universität Basel (Kunsthistorisches Seminar) and Princeton University.
